Flat Wire Bead & Continuity Detector

The Flat wire detector uses two flat ceramic guides to contact the wire.  The arms that the ceramic guides are attached to are spring loaded.  The arms move outward when a bead hits them.  A sensor detects the movement of the arm.  Two shaped wire detectors are required for one wire line in order to touch all 4 sides.

A DC voltage is applied to conductive brushes.  The wire runs through the brushes.  A current will flow when there is a pinhloe or weak spot in the insulation.  The DC voltage range is 0 – 3000 VDC.  The voltage is set from the computer.  The series resistance of the voltage source is 60,000,000 ohms.
